New Heritage Church of God exists to: lift up the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, equip you and your family to find a place to belong and reach our community around us.

New Heritage Church of God was formed out of two local congregations consisting of: Riverdale Church of God and Abundant Life Worship Center.  In January of 1950 Pastor AJ Clements organized Riverdale Church of God.  In 1955 Arthur H. Smith assumed the pastorate of Riverdale Church of God.  In 1988 Abundant Life worship Center was organized by Pastor W Calvin Smith in Tyrone.   1992 Abundant Life purchased the property and built the current church building.  In 1999 Pastor Mark H. Medlin assumed the role of Senior Pastor at Riverdale Church of God with the retirement of Reverend Arthur Smith. Pastor Mark had served as the Associate Pastor of Riverdale Church for 17 years.  October 2007 brought about the retirement of Pastor Calvin Smith and through the prompting and leadership of Pastor Mark, Riverdale Church of God and Abundant Life Worship Center merged to form one congregation. The votes of both churches were unanimous in favor of the merger. New Heritage Church of God held the first service on November 4, 2007 under the leadership of Pastor Mark and Cheryl Medlin.
